So many goodbyes

I didn't know that working in this office meant that I'd be dealing with so many goodbyes..
Just a coupla days ago I said goodbye to Alberto, and now Jay ;_;

So weird though, I'm so close to Jay, I can't believe she's leaving. It feels like she'll still pop out from behind the partitions, holding her white cup asking me about the weekends, or if she can print from my computer.

Argh! I hate goodbyes!!

Riri was persistent that we should have last ice cream together, I think that's just her way of covering up her sadness of Jay leaving. And maybe a bit of Alberto's too.

Why do people get seperated ? Maybe so they can meet again and be happy about it..
I kept telling to myself that Korea isn't that far, so I wouldn't feel so bad.. but still... the emptiness filled my walk to the busway.

You will be missed, Jay....

Kasihan si Angga disuruh nyanyi terus

I have overworked my Ipod and my Maliq & D'Essentials CD for the last days because I simply couldn't get enough of them. I charged my Ipod while I'm sleeping at night, and I played it on the way to office, while working, on the way to busway stop, in busway, and at home. The problem is, I can't sing to it in the bathroom (karena Ipodnya entar kelelep).

I need a cd player!

My poor feet!

Yesterday I collapsed. After walking back and forth to Jay's place for lunch (the gudeg exceeded my expectations), and afterwork to Pasaraya, I just lost the ability to force myself to even talk to Z. I'm sorry, Z!!!!

My feet and legs are also suffering from the walks... My right leg hurt whenever I bend to ruku' at prayers and my feet are swelling like crazy (well it's because my shoes are the cheap ones from pasar kembang, so it's not entirely the walk's fault.)

and lemme add something : i hate my office, i'll even hate it more with Jay and Al's gone.........

Perut Melayu

Perutku kemarin sangat menderita. Kenapa? Karena instead of nasi, yang diterimanya adalah :

Sarapan : sari roti coklat yang bulat 1

Makan siang : siomay (because Jay really wanted to eat siomay -and I did too. but siomay is like side dish or snack, for perut melayu, of course, so my stomach didn't acknowledge this dish as lunch)

Aduh.. dasar perut melayu, pinginnya makan nasi. Lemme search the kitchen.

Studio 8 is here! and so is a fresh new problem

So finally our IT guy gave me the good news, and the cds are here. I've never bought corporate software before, it's so much thrill to even open the box! I felt that somebody should've witnessed it (it ended up opened it alone)

I was so busy the time I got the CD, and the IT guy kept bugging me to lend him the CDs. I didn't have time to even install the CD until the beginning of this week (got the CD 2 weeks ago).

And after that, another problem surfaced - now I have the burden of learning and mastering (if possible) all studio 8 applications. Rats! And I don't even know how to make flash menu! Gaswat!!

my current office : an international twist of kelurahan...

I said to my boss, who's a programme specialist, the first time she introduced me to my new office. "This looks a lot like govermental institution" which kinda wowed her. I didn't know what I was talking about at the moment.

Here, we have units led by programme specialists and then consultant and staff. My official job position is IT Support staff, unspesifically for multipurposes. (HA!) The IT guy who also interviewed me said they had to put that in to avoid "problems" with HQ. OK, as long as I don't have to go fixing some servers or plug something, I'm fine.

My first weeks are so- so, what surprised me so much is how ignorant the people were in the first week. Of course, there were some really friendly folks (thank you guys) and some really really friendly folks who turned out cold after the first talk (I wonder if that is the usual thing here). My friend, also new, said that this office is not nearly as bad as her old office.

During these 3 weeks we've been treated to fancy lunches : Director's farewell (twice, in Diknas and internal), Unesco's birthday, and the DG's visit. Woah... the food were so good! I think I'm getting fat in this office (he he)

I became friends with an international consultant from Korea. She reminds me a lot of my Filipino friend at high school. But she's leaving Unesco in less than one month, so I don't know who I'm going to share the office gossips once she leaves :(.

I still don't dare calling Unesco my office, because it's so unfamiliar to me still, and many of the people seem a little distant most of the time. I tried to make friends but somehow it reminded me of American high schools with their cliques and gangs and that kinda back me off.. Still I feel that I'm in a battle and I haven't won yet.
